Enough

Empty, one use left. My inclination is to squander its use, and save it. Then a liberating thought comes to my heart. At this moment I get to use it. At this moment I will embrace what I have for at this moment I have enough. Instead of allowing my future lack in the next moment to overcome me, I allow the joy of enough to blossom. I am willing to embrace this luxury.

I twist open the round white lid from the glass jar. I apply the last dollop of cream using my fingertips. It slides over my face without effort. My skin happily soaks it in. My face feels so lovely. I am smiling. My husband embraces me and says “You smell so good.”

The glass jar is empty. I toss it away. No glass recycling in my area. Maybe I can order more, or maybe another opportunity will present itself. I let go of the worry that I am out of something. I let go. I choose to let go of the anxious thought that there may not be enough in the shadows of Covid 19.

This is life to me. It is your favorite jar of face cream, only so full. Eventualy I will come to the end of it. Rather than living in the future mindset of empty, I choose to live in the current mindset of full. Life is more wonderful if I embrace what I have.

Here is my challenge for you dear reader. Whatever it is you are afraid of losing or running out of at this moment insert it into the sentence below. Read it aloud. Let your mind change. At this moment be ok with how things are. Please play along. See how it makes you feel.

I am thankful for __________.

Right now I embrace my __________ by __________.

At this moment I have enough. At this moment I will enjoy my _________.

The following are two of my own examples.

I am thankful for my life. Right now I embrace my life by living in the now. At this moment I have enough. At this moment I will enjoy my life.

I am thankful for my Rocky Mountain Soap Face Cream. Right now I embrace my face cream by using it lavishly. At this moment I have enough. At this moment I will enjoy my face after I use it.

This may seem silly to some, but I believe that we are transformed by the way we think. Romans 12:2 says that we can be transformed by the renewing of our mind and to me it even indicates reason and purpose for doing so.

So choose. Choose to be changed by the mindset of enough, and have faith in a Heavenly Abundance.
